WE ARE KNITTERS: III Knitting Party en la tele!!

Y llegó el gran día. Ya sabéis que desde hace tiempo organizamos knitting-parties en Madrid. A los chic@s que vienen les encanta, tanto por la merienda como porque se van sabiendo tejer. Pero, ¿cómo podíamos hacer para que nuestra knitting-passion llegara a más gente y desatar aún más la knitting-mania?

La respuesta, claro está, es a través de la televisión. Podría de decirse que la de este domingo fue una knitting party mediática.

Cuando llegamos a Lo Siguiente con todos nuestros ovillos, agujas, patrones, etc. Elisa y Piluca estaban decorando de Navidad el bar además de estar colgando de las paredes los cuadros de la nueva exposición temporal. Por si ya había poco lío, nosotros empezamos a knittear todo el bar: ovillos por las mesas, agujas en las paredes, bolsas de WE ARE KNITTERS por todas partes...! Íbamos contrarreloj ya que los equipos de Antena 3 y Cuatro estaban a punto de llegar, pero el resultado fue el mejor.

Cuando llegaron los periodistas ya estaba todo listo. Empezamos por Cuatro y seguimos con Antena 3. Nos hicieron preguntas de todo tipo, sacaron tomas desde todos los ángulos y entrevistaron a unos cuantos de nuestros knitters mientras tejían, unos con más pericia que otros, no offence Max ;) Aún no sabemos cuándo se emitirá, pero os avisaremos, don't worry!

Una vez se acabó la locura de la televisión, continuamos con lo que a nosotros nos gusta hacer realmente: enseñar a los demás a tejer mientras tomábamos un brunch de lo más bueno. Algunos ya se han convertido en fijos, como Úrsula, Blanca o Beatriz; pero también van viniendo nuevos knitters como Carmen o Andreita. Aprendieron rápidamente como hacer punto de arroz para tejer sus Dumbo Snood y su Sienna Beanie y presumir de ellos ahora en invierno.

Estuvimos casi 4 horas allí y tenemos que confesar que cada vez nos lo pasamos mejor. Este sábado 10 de diciembre volveremos a hacer una en Lo Siguiente (C/ Fernando VI nº11, Madrid) a partir de las 18:00 dentro de nuestro ALL THE HAPPINESS IN A KIT TOUR.

The big day arrived. You already know we organize knitting parties in Madrid. People who attend love them because they learn how to knit and because of the food we serve but, how could we reach more people with our knitting passion so the knitting-manie spreads everywhere?

The answer is, of course, through the TV. We could say last Sunday's knitting party was a mass media knitting party.

Elisa and Piluca were putting the final touches to Lo Siguiente's Christmas decoration when we arrived with all our yarn balls, needles, patterns, etc. It was quite a mess but we decided to put yarn balls on the tables, needles on the walls and WE ARE KNITTERS' kits everywhere. We were running out of time because the TV was about to arrive but the results were amazing!

When they got to the bar everything was ready. We started with Cuatro and followed with Antena 3 (two of the biggest Spanish TV channels). We answered lots of questions, they filmed from every corner of the bar and talked to our knitters while they were knitting, though some better than others, no offence Max ;) We don't know yet when it's going to be aired, but we will inform you, don't worry!

Once the TV interviews were over we could focus on what we really like: teach how to knit while we eat a really good brunch. Some have turned into senior knitters like Úrsula, Blanca or Beatriz but we also have some new people, like Carmen and Andreita. They learnt how to knit their Dumbo Snood and Sienna Beanie so they can wear them this winter.

We were there for almost 4 hours but we must confess that it gets more enjoyable every time. This Saturday, December 10th we will be at Lo Siguiente (C/Fernando VI nº11, Madrid) from 6 p.m. with our ALL THE HAPPINESS IN A KIT TOUR.
