WE ARE KNITTERS @ Daisy Market (La Coruña)

Hello knitters!

Este finde hemos estado en Daisy Market, una feria muy nueva que se celebra en La Coruña desde hace poquito. Tenemos que confesar que los integrantes de WE ARE KNITTERS somos unos enamorados de Galicia...nos encanta!!! Sus paisajes, su gente y sobre todo: su comida!!

Lo que veíamos al levantarnos...

Después de un largo viaje en coche hasta allí con chuches incluídas, el sábado comenzó nuestra andadura en el Daisy: además de atender en nuestro stand, pudimos acudir a las conferencias de Loreak Mendian y La Casita de Wendy (http://www.lacasitadewendy.com/) en las que, literalmente, tomamos varias hojas de apuntes de lo interesantes que fueron!! Un poco más tarde Inés, de La Casita, se pasó a ver nuestros kits y tenemos que decir que es una persona súper cercana y sencilla, además de darnos unos consejos que seguiremos al pie de la letra :) Además, tiene una niña que es para comérsela!!

Pudimos hablar también con Rebeca, del Terrón de Azúcar (http://rebecaterron.blogspot.com/2010/09/terron-de-azucar-presentaterrones.html) ...le encantó WE ARE KNITTERS y a nosotros lo suyo también! Echadle un ojo, tienen un concepto muy "dulce" y divertido!

Lo que más nos gustó posiblemente fue Smiles Store (http://blogsmiles.wordpress.com/). Se trata de una antigua nave industrial a las afueras de La Coruña reconvertida en un espacio donde se imparten cursos, hay tienda, etc. todo con un toque MUY neoyorquino. Nos pareció muy interesante y sus creadores, Su & Neko, son gente de la que aprender. Recomendación: si vais a Coruña, pasaros por su taller, os encantará 100%!

Por último, nos hizo mucha ilusión encontrarnos con los hermanos de ElSuso Dicho (http://www.elsuso.com/), Bernat y Núria. Ya coincidimos con ellos en El Ego de Cibeles, pero entre pitos y flautas no pudimos hablar con ellos. Esta vez no hemos perdido la oportunidad! Seguidles la pista, van a dar mucho de lo que hablar...

De lo que nos hemos dado cuenta en WAK es la cantidad de gente interesante que estamos conociendo en las ferias a las que estamos yendo...!!!! Es una de las cosas que más nos gusta de nuestro trabajo...ver que hay gente que cree en su proyecto y que tiene tanta ilusión como nosotros!!

Hello knitters!

This weekend we attended Daisy Market, a new fair held in La Coruña since not along ago. WE ARE KNITTERS must confess that is in love with Galicia: the views, the people and on top of that...the food!!

After a long road trip (sweets included) Daisy started for us on Saturday morning. While receiving people in our stand, we were also able to attend some speeches given by Loreak Mendian and La Casita de Wendy (http://www.lacasitadewendy.com/). They were so inspiring that we took pages of notes!! Later on, Inés from La Casita came to see our kits and we have to say that she's a really nice and down-to-Earth person. We will take into account all of her pieces of advice!! Moreover, she's the mum of a little girl that is the sweetest thing.

We also talked to Rebeca, one of the girls from Terrón de Azúcar ((http://rebecaterron.blogspot.com/2010/09/terron-de-azucar-presentaterrones.html) ...she loved WE ARE KNITTERS, so we did with her own thing. Check it out, they have a really "sweet" and funny concept!

But the thing that caught our eye the most was possibly Smiles Store (http://blogsmiles.wordpress.com/). It is an old warehouse in the suburbs of Coruña turned into a multi-tasking space: teaching rooms, shop, etc. all with a true NYC touch. We think it is really interesting and the minds behind it, Su & Neko, are people to learn from. Recommendation: if you ever go to La Coruña, go and visit Smiles Store, you're going to love it for sure!

Last but not least, we were happy to came across with ElSuso Dicho siblings (http://www.elsuso.com/), Bernat & Núria. We both were @ El Ego de Cibeles, but because one thing or the other we couldn't get to know each other. This time around we didn't miss the oppotunity! Keep an eye on them, they will give a lot to talk about...

Something we have noticed these days is the number of interesting people we are getting to know in the fairs we are going! This is something we love about our job...to learn about people that believes in their dreams and puts as much passion as us in their project!!
